Here now, for 2007 - Bigger, better and faster with more chord changes. The band
has taken their rockabilly/surf roots and ran into a DARK, DEEP forest of BIZARNESS. Eight years in production at three different studios from Hamilton to Toronto—the majority of final tracks, recorded at Blue Tilt (in Hamilton); engineered by Danny Z., produced by Bill Boyd-Wilson and mastered at The E-room (in Toronto) by Peter J Moore. The album is presently charting on College radio stations across Canada and has remained #1 for several weeks on a few stations.

CADILLAC BILL & THE CREEPING BENT Route 666 (Independent)
It's been too many years since we've heard or seen Cadillac Bill, but with the beard he's sporting in the album sleeve's photos I might not have recognized him anyway. Bill Boyd-Wilson is an Englishman who moved to Canada and gained a bit of a cult following on the club and campus circuit in the '90s for putting together The Creeping Bent's kitschy and entertaining stage shows. They're finally back with a new album, and the style hasn't changed much. It's good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll with a hint of psychobilly, and Bill's droll and deadpan delivery of some pretty off-the-wall lyrics immediately captures your attention. That may not be a positive thing to many listeners, but I guess I have a soft spot for lo-fi songs about leather pants, strippers and goats, and being lost in space. There's also a cover of Frank Zappa's "Willy The Pimp," but it's hardly essential. Steve McLean
