Buddy Greco - Jazz Groves (feat. Joe Lano)

This trio album teams Buddy with two outstanding Vegas musicians -Kenny Seiffert on bass and the brilliant Joe Lano on guitar (“A genius,” says Buddy).

The pianist has plenty of chance to display his wares on the swingers including ‘Scrapple From The Apple’ and ‘Fine and Dandy,’ the two sambas and on the ballads ‘I Can’t Get Started’ and ‘Misty,’ on which he skilfully manipulates the intensity of his performance to an orchestral climax. Buddy and Joe Lano dovetail nicely throughout.

In Buddy’s long career, there have been plenty of ups and downs as music cultures waxed and waned according to the whims of the period. Now hopefully, with his resurgent career in full flight, maybe some of the jazz world’s power makers will take more notice of Buddy Greco – the jazz pianist.
