A former film student, Martin finished college and decided to put filmmaking on hiatus in order to explore electronic music. He has played piano, guitar and turntables for several years, but now considers himself primarily a laptopist, which is now a word. A devout believer in the deconstruction of genre, Martin uses few formulas and borrows from a wide variety of influences. His first album, Doors to Sleep, will be out late January 2007 on Galactique.
