Neil Case is a recording artist and producer who transformed an early love for music into a successful career in the music business. Growing up in Jamaica, he started DJing at parties as a teenager, then moved on to become an assistant engineer at Byron Lee’s famed Dynamic Sound Studios in Kingston, where we worked with Reggae legends such as Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh and Inner Circle. After moving to the USA he first entered the Bass music arena in 1992 under the alias “Beat Dominator” and then in 1994 created his well-known and most successful alias, “Bass Mekanik” – He parallels Bass music with Reggae for its dominant use of low frequencies. From the very beginning the Bass Mekanik’s success has been a classic grassroots phenomenon. Without a huge advertising budget or major promotional firepower his reputation has been mainly built by the positive word of mouth generated by his music. His unique approach of taking the knowledge and feedback gleaned from competitors at car audio events and combining it with his experience as a recording engineer has made him the number one most recognized musical artists among car audio fans.
