New talent from the West Coast making noise !!
Autolect is a rare bread artist who produces and writes his own material. His forthcoming album, “Clean Break” features production from 9th Wonder, Fanatic & Jihad. With the help of Beat Makers Jihad and Fanatik (of Tawheed productions) in Oakland, Autolect honed his craft. “When I emerged out of the new andalus studio I basically understood what I had to do all around. Business, lyrically & production wise, my development has been In good hands from La to the bay.
The First track “AKH.Fantastic” is in my eyes a hit. A Sunni pimp track, I say that with humor. The hook is very catchy letting everyone know exactly where the source of all creativity comes from. The First verse, blends with the hook so smooth its hard to tell where the verse / hook begins. The second verse is from my personal point of view. Success is a double edge sword, Bitter sweet. But here I am talking directly too the audience letting them into my life a bit. Third verse has purpose bouncing from the interpersonal to society. “I can’t just sit back and let this world take over my soul. I have been active in my approach but not ignorant by design”. Sometimes the verses tend toward the philosophical. But all in all it’s just everyday life serving us a bunch of stuff that we have too sort thru and understand.
“It was written”, a 9th wonder track featuring west coast freestyle lyricist MIKIAL and North Carolina’s BEYOND. It’s definitely about life and staying away from others illnesses. We all have problems but we should never bring those issues into the circles we encounter. I ask Allah too protect me from others. Some just cannot control themselves. At times it’s hard for me too do so. People in general make a living off others. From societies point of view this automatically puts you in the mix.
”Non-other”, was originally recorded in the cold environment of the “”ICEBOX”” aka: Strategy’s garage (also where Azeem’s garage opera ep was recorded). This is a jihad track, which swings the classic drums of an SP; I chopped the track up vocally in a monotone delivery that laid in the cut. “I don’t wanta stand on the corner, Iam emceeing, an Ed-OG cut rings out preceding the first verse. This is a scenario that has me eluding tragedy moving from spot too spot. Letting the listener know exactly why I do what I do. Once again, these vocals are not dumbed down; they are very complex and interlaced with lessons. That bombards the senses.
