Stefan and Joe Anderson were Shreveport, Louisiana natives. Stefan was an amazingly gifted singer. Younger brother Joe had a huskier, lighter voice that was otherwise very similar to Stefan’s. Both were accomplished songwriters. Stefan released a few singles on Capitol and Stax, but the brothers never recorded together until 1977, when producers Tim Whitsett, Chick Churchill, and Carson Whitsett cut their first album at Malaco Studios in Jackson, MS for British label DJM. ‘Baby I Love You,’ anchored by the crack Malaco rhythm section, was cut in 1978 as a follow-up.
