AMY BLASCHKE (pronounced Blash-key) has been writing songs since she was an early teen. After playing for a short time in a band, she released her first music publicly under her own name. Her 1999 debut album Red Letter (LaPush Records), surfaced when she was just 18 years old, and quickly folks in the Northwest took note of a bright new talent in the area. A single for the Redwood Acoustic Series followed, and eager listeners waited patiently for more.

2003 brought Amy's S/T full length recorded by Jake Snider (Minus the Bear) at Seattle’s Spectre Studios on the Luckyhorse Industries Label. These songs are backed by the steady tastes of James Bertram (formerly of 764-Hero, Red Stars Theory) on bass guitar and Erin Tate (Minus the Bear) on drums and background vocal duties, and show a more matured and focused songwriter. Blaschke steps out boldly, covering vulnerable territory lyrically and locking into a nice swagger and groove with her backing band. Yes, this new album pays honest homage to that growing reliable stable of singer/songwriters following in a time-honored tradition, and at times gives a friendly nod to the likes of a stripped-down Mazzy Star, the 4-track days of Elliott Smith, or the more accessible side of Shannon Wright, but do not be fooled! Amy Blaschke sings her own tune, and brings a fresh new confessional voice for all of your latest nights.
