Versatile urban sounds artist Soulem has signed with A&R Select, Hollywood’s hottest indie A&R firm. Soulem’s music explores soul, hip-hop, R&B and more, all executed with the unique vision of Mathieu Karsenti of London, England.
“I want to bring the soul back into music by mixing a live feel to contemporary urban music,” says Karsenti. “I like to be moved by a authentic, soulful music, whether it is spiritual, emotional or rhythmical (for dancing).”
And, he says, he wants his listeners to be moved in the same way with his songs, created by fusing different genre influences into a sound that is distinctly Soulem.
Karsenti is currently in collaboration with a British R&B singer and is also busy working on a production project by the name of FrozenSoul.
In addition to his work as a songwriter and performer, Karsenti is an established vocal coach and producer and is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist. He asserts that his diverse cultural background influences all aspects of his career. “My mix of cultures (half French, half English, with some Arabic blood), reflects my music production,” he says.
